Sebastion says.....

Today for lunch, I raided the pantry for something "new & exciting" for lunch. I ended up making chili cheese fries, which I hadn't had for quite some time. The kids have never had them (I know, I'm such a horrid Mum! LOL). Afterwards I was approached by my oldest..... Sebastion says- "Mom those were so good, I'd say it was fine dining." I need to get them out more. *sigh*

Everyone else has a guest blogger, why can't I? LOL

Keenan was eating his dinner, and out of the blue he says: "Mom? You're the best Mom in town !" Things that make a Momma's heart melt into puddles!

About that manna post!

I was a bit evasive with that post. Hubba went out of town Thursday night & returned yesterday afternoon. I'm sure you can understand my evasiveness ;) He went on a retreat/ministry. While he was gone, we had an, um... .. in teresting weekend. Saturday alone, we had 10 tornadoes rip through Georgia. T he heart of Atlanta got hit twice in less than 24 hours. The city was CLOSED DOW N. Unheard of for Atlanta. Here at our house (just on the outskirts of ATL) we had our si rens go off 4 times. We ended up in the tub twice. Hubba & his group ended up in stairwells. They were a couple hours North of ATL. God was with us, and blessed up mightily, though. With everything going on- touchdowns, hail the size of baseballs, winds, etc., the state of GA suffered only 2 deaths. Hubba & myself & the kids all came thr ough everything completely unscathed. Here are pictures of our weekend. Whenever Daddy goes out of tow n, we pull out all the sleeping bags, pillows, blankets, etc. ...

Vinegar ROCKS!

Among the other things I use vinegar for, here's my latest trick! I can't believe I'm showing you this, but this is 1 1/2 years of build up. And yes, I have scrubbed it before & it didn't do much. I sprayed it with straight vinegar & walked away. I came back with a green scrubbie pad, a toothbrush & a couple of cleaning rags. This is a VERY old stove, so there are some marks I'm unable to remove- like discoloration to the enamel, burn marks, chips, etc. As an FYI, I didn't use the bristles of the toothbrush for scrubbing. I put the scrubbie over the handle & used it to get into the hard to reach spots. For the corners I simply stuck the handle wrapped scrubbie into the corners & twisted.

Manna

Hubba has something coming up & has been asked to bring in a sm all snack for 70 people. This along with what the other folks bring will be a bit of food I'm sure. They call this time "Manna." It is a surprise for the guests. Last time (when he was a guest) he said they all had little tags/labels on them. I offered to get these ready for him, so last night I hit Big Lots & found tins of Danish Butter Cookies for $2 a tin. Mmmm... yummy! He needs enough for 9 tables, so I spent $18 on them. Buying these cookies annihilated the need for serving bowls. Oh yeah & one for me (coming from Big Lots, I had to make sure they were fresh ya know *wink wink nudge nudge* ..... I printed Acts 8:15-17 on parchment look paper (which I already had from a previous project), added a clipart of a cross, and cut them using stamp edge effect decorative scissors: Then I printed the other side to make a greeting card effect with our name inside, folded them & taped them with tape...
