Back to Monday

I don't think it was possible for my weekend to have gotten any better, with the exception of going to church. Hubby had Saturday off. We spent the morning and early afternoon lounging around. I was up at 5:30 am to make cinnamon rolls, and let me tell you..... I can officially cross it off my list! They were a HUGE hit!!! We left Saturday afternoon to drop by the library, hit some thrift shoppes, yada yada . We drove by the bread outlet to verify that they were retail & open to the public. Now I know when I can stop by (they were 10 mins from closing and I wanted to wait til I had more time!). Otherwise I have a grossly busy week ahead of me. I am getting ready for the Superbowl Party/Keenan's 3rd B-day party/Surprise Party for My Daddy. Blessings to all!!!

Risin' risin' risin', keep that dough-y risin'....

RAWHIDE!!! Seriously though, I have my dough rising in the oven for cinnamon rolls. I PRAY they turn out. This'll be another thing I can cross off my 101 in 1001 list. I've been up since 5:30 this morning so I could get this started. The Hubba & I had a WONDERFUL evening last night. I got every blanket in the house, our pillows and our comforter and we camped out last night in front of the fireplace. It was SOOOOO relaxing and SOOOOO much f un. He was so upset. He forgot out "anniversary." But not our wedding one. Yesterday marked 5 years we've been together. I love him so much. Even when things are horribly rough. I didn't mention it y-day. I wanted to see if he remembered on his own & had I mentioned it y-day he might have seen it. LOL..... Canniving, aren't I? *giggle* Anyway, I've got my dough rising, sausage & bacon thawing, a Hubba still crashed out on the floor and I think I hear a child wandering around. Have a blessed day. And coun...

Changes, Days off and the power of pancakes

My wee baby Kee turns 3 today. Well actually he JUST d id! 10:40 am. It amazes me, to this day, how quickly they grow. He requested pancakes. So I added some toffee bits to them, made them "silver dollar," and they LOVED 'em!!! Tonight is a lovely dinner of..... ICE CREAM!!! Tomorrow my Hubba has a day off. So I've worked up a HUGE menu for brunch. We'll be having choice of bacon or sausage, hasbrown patties, eggs, choice of fruit or applesauce, and cinnamon rolls (one of his faves!). Now I've never made cinnamon rolls from scratch before, but I've been wanting to try and it's on my 101 in 1001 . So I'm crossing my fingers that they turn out well! As for changes, we've postponed Kee's party tomorrow. With Hubba working SOOOO much, he's sick, I'm sick, I decided it was just better that we postpone it. Since we've already planned on a Superbowl party, we decided we'd combine them. Then, on top of that, my Mu m has been trying ...

A small break

I have a lot to do the next couple days, partly in prep for Keenan's 3rd birthday (I canNOT believe how fast they grow- you'd think I'd be used to it). I'm not sure exactly when I'll be back on, but it is my goal to return no sooner than Friday evening. Could be next week, I 'm not sure at this point. We have a lot of homes chooling to do, including a couple of larger pr ojects (mentioned on the HS Blog. A house to be sure is spotless for guests, and a few othe r things going on. I hope a ll of you are bl essed.

TGFT!!!

Thank God for today! We had a wonderful weekend. The Hubba & I got to go out ON A DATE!!! WooHoo !!! Thnx SOOO much to my wonderful Mother-in-law!!! Thank you SOOOO much "J." We went to Houcks . I had grilled salmon and, onion strips & salad. The Hubba had a thick juicy steak, loaded baked tater & a salad. Then we stopped off at Cafe Med on the way home for a drink. The evening started out rocky, but ended up fabulously. He had to go into work Sunday, and I hated for him to go. We had a wonderful day whilst he was home and an AWESOME evening! I've missed he & I time!!! It's Monday and time to roll for the week. I have a dinner going in the crockpot - fajitas- YUM!!! Alongside I'll serve up tortillas, refried beans & spanish rice. I also have my lunch cooking- stuffed peppers & since I'm making rice, I'm making enough for dinner as well. Cook once, eat twice!!! Gotta LOVE that! On the agenda today is the ever-never ending lau...

Can you smell that?

Spaghetti sauce, simmerin' away..... 3 quarts of applesauce sealed successfully. Right now I am eating a snack of popcorn. The boys are watching cartoons as they eat theirs. 20 pounds of apples left in the fridge outside, 6 jarred cakes to bake and spaghetti sauce to can as soon as it is finished simmering. My life is good. The only thing missing is my Hubba Bubba who is at work. I am currently on IM with a friend who's friend lost a good friend (did you follow all that?). If you would keep Nikki & company in your prayers, we'd all appreciate it. The lady died right in front of her husband, unexpectedly. What a shock. Remember how precious your loved ones are to you and tell them that often. Live like it's your last breath, ALWAYS! I'm not doing my 10 blessings today. I think within my previous words, you KNOW my blessings, and yes, today they would be repetitive. Be blessed! Live!

10 Daily, a trip to Nana's, Hub's day off and wheat bread

My hunka-hunka Hubba has the day off today. I am currently smelling the sweet, sweet fragrance of bread wafting from a hot oven (that, my friends, is what we call breakfast). Our plans are a trip to my Mum & Dad's house *a*k*a* "Nana's House." We also had plans to drop by Dollar General to pick up a few things we were unable to find when we went shopping last weekend. Lucky for us, this planned visit, as our coffee maker has kicked the bucket, so we need a new one. The heating element was going berserk on me a couple days ago, but since it was still spitting coffee and was heating the coffee most of the time out we thought naught of it and decided to hold on buying a new one til payday. Aye carumba! Today was coffee maker doomsday in this house. Alas, our poor coffee maker of almost 5 years has taken a burial. So if you coffee lovers and drinkers (I know you'll understand) will take a moment of silence and remember all of our fallen coffee makers........ And n...

1- God 2- Boys 3- My HubbaBubba 4- Potato flake starter bread 5- Coffee 6- Wheat flour 7- Email 8- Bananas 9- Our home 10- The Bible Today is going to be a somewhat busy day. I am cramping, but there are a lot of things I need to accomplish. I only got a couple loads of laundry done so I have a bunch left, and I want to make enough muffins to last the week (that means like 100 muffins the way these boys meal through them- LOL). I have my bread dough rising on the counter, it will be put into pans tonight before bed and we will have nummy hot fresh bread for breakfast tomorrow. That'll be a good thing as tomorrow will be a busy day. HubbaBubba has the day off. We are headed to North GA to visit my Mum & hopefully my Dad if he gets off work early enough. We also need to drop by the store to pick up a few things we were unable to find at Aldi or Big Lots on Sunday. To-Do: *Do at least 4 loads laundry *Make at least 3 dozen muffins- banana, cranberry & chocolate chip *Make cran...

Well it's somewhat overcast today.....

But is supposedly near 70º today. Forecast for rain and then a plummet in temps. We'll see.... I have a nummy din-din going in the crockpot- potato soup. HubbaBubba asked for grilled cheese sarnis and soup this week on the mennie, so am obliging the hunka burnin' cutiepie and making his fave soup along side those requested sarnis. The soup is a new recipe. If it turns out nicely, I'll post the recipe on the recipe blog. I need to post a recipe soon; it's been awhile. So today I have been blessed with many things, even though it is girly time for me & a massive migraine has rendered me darn near useless. 1- God 2- The crockpot 3- A hardworkin', easily pleased (usually) husband 4- the sheer "luck" that I postponed my visit with my Mum & Dad til Wednesday (He sure know what He's doin', huh?) 5- A full pantry 6- A full freezer 7- White chocolate macadamia nut popcorn 8- Relatively quiet children today 9- Satellite for "babysitting" t...
Have I ever told you how much I LOVE comments? LOL Beautiful new layout. I killed my last (and first) starter after one round of bread. Brown sugar & wheat sounds yummy. Could you please share the chocolate cake recipe? Thank you so much Miss Chrisi!!! I was going for a wintry mix, since as you know, GA hasn't seen that anytime lately. Hehe.... As for that recipe, sure! I got it fro m Food Network . mmmmm...... Miss ya Kayla! My computer crashed and I lost your blog addy... had to "hunt" you down. LOL! "Ellie" I am SOOOO glad you hunted me down (or should I be biting my nails? LOL). I am so glad you have your computer up & running again (I hope?).

Today I worked on the house some

I finshed picking through the Elder's clothes and have completed wardrobes for each of them. I also worked a hefty bunch on the kitchen. A few before & after pics: I'll post more pics as I continue to purge, organise and take control!

Daily 10

I'm losing myself again. I realised last night that part of the reason I have such a hard time keeping up with the house, is that there's just too much of it. I was shocked and stunned at the amount of clothing the Elders had. I mean knock me over, downright jaw on the floor from a standing position. I am rectifying that. I am also re-finding ME. Remember my 10 daily blessings? They are back. No. They've always been there. I just haven't acknowledged them as often lately as I should. With no further adieu & in no particular order, 10 of my many blessings today: 1- God 2- Beef stew (it's what's for dinner 3- My kids 4- My Hubba-bubba 5- Shelter 6- My homekeeping binder 7- the library 8- puhhnamas 9- Babywearing 10- Friends

Puhnamas

Mummy: "Go put those up" Keenan: "But these are puhh- namas Mahmmy," as he holds up 2 t-shirts he has mistaken for pj's. Puhh-namas. It's the new rage. Go tell your friends.

Well.....

Hello there! Blessed new year to you. Sorry I haven't been around. We have been soooooo busy lately. Hubs job is supposed to be opening now, so he's working some wacky and weird hours, Along with that we are getting over the holidays, restarting HS'ing after a short break and have been planning our garden. Hubs has decided that he wants to move back North when our lease here is up. It's all in God's hands, so we'll see. I have taken to baking. A LOT! I've also been jarring some of those beautiful babies and currently we have a few jars of Featherlight Chocolate Cake and Pumpkin Raisin Spice bread stored away for dessert or breakfast at a moment's notice. YUM! Last night I started a new potato flake bread starter. I decided to use brown sugar instead of white and will use wheat instead of all white flour. I'm hoping for a rich homey brown bread for sopping up soup (not to mention, we're low on white sugar *blush blush*). I am so impressed with it....
