Like sands through the hourglass.....

....so are the thoughts of my mind. I HAD a post, a good one at that, that I was going to post about. And with one fell poof, the thought is gone........ *sigh*

Remember......

I invite you today to remember those that have died for our freedom and those that have died to protect us and our familes. Please remember, too, those that are risking their lives for us today and their families that were so courageous to say goodbye. Visit www.google.com and type in 2 simple words- Memorial Day. Then peruse the pages that come up. I dare you!

The Map...

The Map... A father wanted to read a magazine but was beingbothered by his littlegirl, Shelby. She wanted to know what the United States looked like. Finally, he tore a sheet out of his new magazine onwhich was printed themap of the country. Tearing it into pieces,he gave it to Shelby, andsaid, "Go into the other room and see if you can putthis together. This will show you our whole country today. "After a few minutes, Shelby returned and handed himthe map correctly fitted together. The father was surprised and askedhow she had finished so quickly. "Oh," she said, "on the other side of the paper is a picture of Jesus. When I got all of Jesus back where He belonged, thenour country just came together."

1 year 2 days

I be bloggin' (phrase taken from the ol' fodder in law). May 20th was my 1-year anniversary o' dis here bulogg. THNX to Miss Molly for pointing out hers and making me realise mine was just passed. Molly, I'll link you later. Late and tired and going to bed now. Love and blessings! PS- at 12M tonite it makes 29 days of no smoking!

Yes, yes, I've bailed out....

Once again I have failed to FLY...... But on the upside, if all else has failed (which it has), my sink has been a shiny sink for more than 2 weeks now- WOOHOO!!! That is DEFINITELY better than anything before. Now I'll be trying out Mrs. Catherine’s 21 day decluttering challenge . I'm wondering if the clutter we call a home has me soooooo overwhelmed that I can't move beyond that. No more I say! Actually I can't really say all that. Just in case it doesn't happen. My biggest problem is the inability to finish 1 project at a time. So then I end up with at least 4 clutterful things going on. Well, here goes! Onward to day 1 .

Snagglepuss and jealous bum!

I'll let you guess which is which!

Soon to come..... A......

My sweet "baby"... who turned 6 on April 27th... told me yesterday morning that his tooth was loose.

Nice day

This has been the big ongoing project of the day: Mmmmmm...... beef jerky. London Broil was on sale $1.98/lb. I bought 4, had them slice 2 into 1/4" slices and froze the other 2 . Otherwise, the freezer has been tantalising me. I desire to fill it with make ahead meals, muffins, breads and other goodies. But alas, I cannot plug it up til 4:30 tomorrow afternoon. I got my order from the USDA of different publications concerning health and food. Those will be reviewed this summer and incorporated into homeschooling next year. 2 medium sized boxes filled to the brim with binders, posters and more! I also got a $10 giftcard for Walmart for a survey I completed. My pocket pages also came which means I can REALLY start making my coupon binder. And above all, Tristen has been the best behaved today than he has been for awhile. Our God is an awesome God!

Ain't she a beaut?

A peek into the library bag.....

My dearest Hubster

Because of my quitting smoking, I have been having some extremely rough days. Last nite he called to tell me he was on his way home from work and I lost it. I became a ball of tears.

Shine your sink!

Yes, ladies! It is that time of year again, where I gander at the Flylady site and sigh, think "I'll try it again," and within days I have already unsubscribed myself to the newsletters. She overwhelms me. You know, instead of "having" me at hello, it's more like she has me LOST at hello! Well this time it's different (I say that every time!). I have noticed a new schedule . She has a day by day regime. Day 1 -Shine your sink, Day 2 - keep that sink shined and get dressed- down to the shoes and makeup! Basically, you start out with a nice clean shiny sink and each day you add a task, until you are flying with the pros. There are 31 days to add tasks. I think it seems a little easier to work your way into FLYing. But even better than that, I have a buddy . I can be accountable!!! As you can see, day 1 is completed. I pray I can live thru to day 31! God bless!

What a way to kick off the yard sale season!

My Mum and I were put running errands late afternoon yesterday..... when what to my tired eyes should appear? But a sign saying yard sale and an arrow to "here." So being the yard salers we once were..... we took a sharp turn right and sooner or later; I'm thinking it was later..... we happened upon the event in question. Now I've touched a little upon yard saling in our HS blog . But this, oh my, I hadn't hit a sale quite like this in quite some time. They were ready for everything to GO!!! Everything half price- yippee!! So, Mum & I ended up walking out of their sale at a whopping $7.50 spent...... 2 metal shelves in EXCELLENT condition ($2.50 a piece- $20 new at Walmart), a shabby looking but sturdy particle board shelf for my furnace closet ($1.50), 3 Tupperware containers (25¢/each) and a small decorative frame for my Mum (25¢). Funny, I was just complaining to Meredith about the cr*ppy rubbish , er I mean rummage sales we have here. Blessed bargin hun...

At about midnight tonight.......

I will have been smoke free for 7 days!
