We went to the Marietta Fire Museum on Wednesday. It was so cool! The boys had a blast. After we got thru traipsing thru the museum, we visited the fire station. The fireman there gave us a tour of the whole thing- where they eat, sleep, cook, relax. He was very nice & answered all of our questions & gave us a ton of info. The boys got to climb in the firetrucks, including a brand new one!!! A HUGE perk- the entire trip (less gas) was F-R-E-E!!! Woohoo!!! Here are some pics. Subway is holding a contest open to any of us that DO NOT homeschool. As per their website: "2. ELIGIBILITY . THE SCORE I posted an ad on Craigslist asking for canning jars. I rec'd 3 responses before we found out we MAY be moving. Out.of.state. One was from a "woman" (I say woman because I googled her email name & came up with a lady on a dating website or the name on pages in foreign languages) who was so very evasive. She wouldn't even tell me how many jars she had, but in both of her emails she prompted me to call her & she'd "tell me how many she had," giving her phone number. I quickly deleted both emails after rec'ing the 2nd, very evasive one **creepy**. The other was for 400 jars **EEK**. I WANT them, but with the possible move (which I 'll get to), I'm holding off. I actually tried to get the other guy that said he has 80-100 to hold off, but when he said 8/$1 I was SOLD!!! Now granted, they are the Atlas jars, 24oz, from the Classico spaghetti sauce brand. Hello there! No, I haven't fallen off the face of the Earth. More like been running circles, squares & triangles on it! I have a lot to catch you up on, so let's see if my summer-fried brain can remember it all! LOL I'll start you with my do-list today. It's taken up the front side of a sheet of paper, and has spilled over to the back of it. Blanche & freeze 6 ears corn Wash, cut & flash freeze 11 bell peppers Take the newspapers out Make drinks for the week- 2 quarts of each unless otherwise stated- sweet tea, orange gatorade, lemon lime gatorade, cooking milk, yoohoo, orange juice, grape juice 4X4 laundry (known to most as 4 loads by 4pm) Make bed Clean master loo Wash linoleum (kitchen, HS room, laundry room) Clean desk Make copies of first week & 2 days of HS workbooks Dinner out to thaw (we're having pork butt steaks, brown rice & peas, maybe salad as well) Straighten & gather all library books Go through old mags, toss ones from HS room...

I have been busy to the max lately! In the past week I have picked blackberries with the Elders & MIL, rinsed them several times and frozen them, made & canned cranberry juice, made and canned spaghetti sauce, finally gotten the pool water back under control (chemicals), cleaned out the garden, removed the "kitty cover," caged some tomato plants, suckered the tomato plants, pinched my basil plants, got the master closet cleaned out, been cleaning up the yard, been entertaining, started buying curriculum, let the boys get a hamster (he's so cute!), yada yada..... Oh I also finished that bathroom ceiling, which I don't think I posted pics of. I have SOOOOOO much to get caught up on. It's anough to drive a weak woman insane. I guess that makes me weak, LOL..... Looks like today is shaping up to be a beautiful day! We are forecasted with a high of 75º- woot woot! I had the kids do a couple of extra chores. They bagged up the trash from the swing set & emptied the litter box. I decided to do a little big project with the box. It measures about 7 or 8 feet long. I want to try and make a pirate ship for the birthday party. My original plan was to make a tunnel for them to play in, until it got so badly whacked out of shape that it became garbage fodder. Of course they are more excited about the pirate ship. Today I need to do a few more loads of laundry, clean floors and work with the boys on a new 3-week science project . We'll also be playing outside a bit. We have another chapter to read on George Washington, a book on weather and some math and English to work on. The people coming out to look at the roof will be here Thursday between 9 & 12N (so they say). Otherwise, dinner is thawing and my morning chores are finished. I have so...

Thank God for today! We had a wonderful weekend. The Hubba & I got to go out ON A DATE!!! WooHoo !!! Thnx SOOO much to my wonderful Mother-in-law!!! Thank you SOOOO much "J." We went to Houcks . I had grilled salmon and, onion strips & salad. The Hubba had a thick juicy steak, loaded baked tater & a salad. Then we stopped off at Cafe Med on the way home for a drink. The evening started out rocky, but ended up fabulously. He had to go into work Sunday, and I hated for him to go. We had a wonderful day whilst he was home and an AWESOME evening! I've missed he & I time!!! It's Monday and time to roll for the week. I have a dinner going in the crockpot - fajitas- YUM!!! Alongside I'll serve up tortillas, refried beans & spanish rice. I also have my lunch cooking- stuffed peppers & since I'm making rice, I'm making enough for dinner as well. Cook once, eat twice!!! Gotta LOVE that! First of all, might I ask a small prayer favour of you. Hubba has decided to quit smoking. His last smoke was Friday evening before bed. As of 8 this morning, he still had not caved and stopped by any "quickie-marts." I, of all people close to him, know how hard this is. I was there a mere 7+ months ago (BIG PRAISE!). Onto bread...... I have the stuff in the bread machine for hamburger buns. I have made them by hand before and have fingers crossed that the machine can help me out with that, and actually turn uot nummy! I also have Mrs. Cat's French Bread Recipe rising on the counter. Dinner will be going into the crockpot as soon as I post this. Boneless country style pork ribs, smothered in BBQ sauce. Mashed taters to follow, green beans and of course, French bread. I think ramekins of applesauce on the side. Delish! Lunch will follow commencement of crockpot setup.
