Today is the day....

....that the Lord hath made. I am glad, and I am re-JOY-cing in it!!! Today is one of those days. I am overwhelmed by the Holy Spirit working in my life. As I move boxes & furniture between rooms, I feel the strain on my muscles. The aches & pains which will soon ensue. I thank God for them. That I am able to do such work. That He has given me strength to get done what I need to do for my family and for HIM. He has graced me with patience & wisdom t oday. He has reminded me of His presence in my heart, my soul, my mind & my body. I am playing the music that I have here on my blog LOUDLY (My playlist is located at the bottom of the blog). It has filled my heart. I have wept today in JOY. I am reminded of the day I was baptised in the Holy Spirit & I find it hard to breathe, I feel a tightness in my throat as the tears form in my eyes. HE IS SO GOOD!!!!! I find myself pausing from my work to lift my hands in PRAISE to HIM. I pray you are in awe of our Lord today. I pr...

Prayers, changes, a score and other things....

THE SCORE I posted an ad on Craigslist asking for canning jars. I rec'd 3 responses before we found out we MAY be moving. Out.of.state. One was from a "woman" (I say woman because I googled her email name & came up with a lady on a dating website or the name on pages in foreign languages) who was so very evasive. She wouldn't even tell me how many jars she had, but in both of her emails she prompted me to call her & she'd "tell me how many she had," giving her phone number. I quickly deleted both emails after rec'ing the 2nd, very evasive one **creepy**. The other was for 400 jars **EEK**. I WANT them, but with the possible move (which I 'll get to), I'm holding off. I actually tried to get the other guy that said he has 80-100 to hold off, but when he said 8/$1 I was SOLD!!! Now granted, they are the Atlas jars, 24oz, from the Classico spaghetti sauce brand. He also had a box of lids & bands that were brand new. How can a jar-ad...

Yard sales, long drives & birthday parties

You know spring has sprung when you can't go 50 feet without seeing a yard sale sign! LOL... Yesterday we took Hubba to work, and on the way home we hit a few yard sales. I managed a fondue pot, brand new & in the box ($3), a "vintage" fire king loaf pan (like pyrex- 25¢), 4 quart sized canning jars (25¢ each) and a few freebie toys (the sweet lady gave the kids some toys). We headed home, so I could change & get the directions to Hubba's great-nephew's birthday party. It was an hour away. We went. It was one of those bouncy places. The kids had a BLAST! We ate pizza & chips, cake & ice cream. Ater almost 3 hours, we headed out. Hit Ingles on the way home for a few groceries, home to put them up & rest for a mo, then back out to pick up Hubba. On the way home, we stopped & picked up a bunch of frozen convenience foods for dinner. We plopped in front of a movie & snacked on jalapeño poppers, mozzie stick, shrimp spread & crackers, ho...

Apple Cider Vinegar & other healthy choices

One of my fave new dietary changes!!! I've been taking 2t of ACV & 2t local honey in 1 cup water. I'm not going to get into all the details, but let's just say it is working WONDERS on my body. I have more energy, I'm... ahem.... regular all of a sudden, my skin is clearer, among other fantastic changes. I also started juicing on Thursday. While I haven't been as loyal with this, I know every little bit helps. Hey, one complete change at a time, right? I also have been noshing on raw veggies again- YUM!!! Back to drinking 90+ oz water again too. I was in such a slump, and decided that it was time to GET OUT OF IT!!!! On top of my dietary changes, I've also started to pray differently. I even asked for prayer from a group I like to call my friends!!! God is so good, as long as you believe, trust & try to understand (None of us have to understand, sometimes that's too hard for us humans, but trying opens a whole new world!!!). Have a blessed day. A day in the life of.....

I guess it's actually a week in the life of since it's been just over a week since I've blogged last (yes, we'll count the tag as post, LOL). Been sorta busy, as usual. Hubba was in a car accident Oct. 30th. He's fine, but it cracked both the front & rear bumpers of the car & did some damage to the paint on the back end. He was sitting at a light when someone slammed into the back of him, ramming him into the car in front. The car in the front left because "there's no damage to my car." It's amazing how quickly people will leave the scene of an accident when they don't have insurance or they've got a warrant out for their arrests, huh? Of course that's only speculation, but according to my Hubba, the guy was anxious to go & drove off before Hubba even had a CHANCE to get the colour, make, etc or the tag number. Yeah, sounds like a guilty conscience to me. So anyway, other than a stiff & sore body, he's fine. And we a...

My Hubba, my hero!

My Hubba has managed hero status 2 days in a row! Yesterday we went to a pool at a friends apt. complex. I happened to see out of the corner of my eye a kid jump into the pool. But something told me to look. It was a little girl, smaller than Keenan that actually FELL in the pool, unattended (I paused for about 5-6 seconds, kinda stunned but also sorta quick-scanning for an adult. I was not swimming and Robert was about 8 feet from her and I yelled at him "Go get that girl, baby. Robert, that little girl is under water!!!" So he went and rescued her. Then today, he rehooked the modem up thru USB instead of ethernet and HERE I AM!!!! We have proper DSL again. It's a tad slower, but I'm ok with that!!! LOL

Too stinkin' cute!

Ism's of a 3 year old: He: "Mom, can you help me make the sun go down. It's too hot." Me: "Honey, I can't help you make the sun go down. You have to talk to God about that." He, as he walks over to Daddy: "Dad.......?" ********************************** Me: "Keenan, I don't like you anymore." He: "YEAH you do, Mom!!!" ********************************** After guzzling the small amount of soda we'd poured in his cup: "Mom! My cup got dry!!!"

Oh I'm so excited!

My garden groweth! Here are some new pics: Both boxes: Corn: Corn, a little better view: If you look towards the back, past the big green plant, you can see some small green babies. Those are my cuke plants. You should be able to click on each picture for a larger view: And here you can see my maters & jalapenos: I've also got a few carrots sprouting and am waiting im patiently for my bell peppers to sprout. I'm so psyched!!! God is wonderful. He has rained blessings upon us and our small garden. I pray he continues to do so!!! Edited to add- I also have basil coming up!

And I'd like to thank my friends, and God.....

Swingsets, baking, laundry and the roof that started leaking

Time for a "real" update, I'm sure. We had a fabulous Easter with family over for a ham dinner. An Easter egg hunt and a wonderful church service. Th is past weekend Hubba was sick all weekend. My parents came over with the boys' belated Easter gift (they were unable to get the one they wanted to get last weekend). Yes, one of those *shock* But they didn't get too much play on it yesterday as it was SNOWING!!! YES! Snowing.in Georgia.in April. *faintthud* I have somewhat of a partime, temp, work from home job. YAY! I'll be doing some data entry work for R's workplace (Doggone I have a sexy boss, *giggle*). It'll be nice to do something to help out on the monetary homefront and not sacrifice the kids' time or education. Otherwise today's daily work will consist of LOTS of laundry, cleaning out the laundry room (it's a wreck!) and doing some baking and mix-making in the kitchen. I'll take the boys out to play for a bit (all I've hear...

Freecycle SCORE!!!

I have been washing jars since last night........ Here's my story....... A couple months ago I'd emailed a lady about some canning jars on freecycle. Well this 'n that happened and tween her schedule & mine, it wasn't happening. I figured she'd given up on me. I got an email from her a couple days ago asking if we could make arrangements. I emailed her to let her know I couldn't pick them up til after 7 last night. She said she wasn't sure anyone would be at the house they were at at that time, so...... She and her hubby came by tonight and dropped them off...... Well, I'd forgotten to ask her how many there were..... I unboxed them (all 7 boxes)..... and counted them..... there were 86 jars of various sizes....... EIGHTY SIX!!!!! I have dubbed the Mr & Mrs "The mason jar fairies." God bless them! Have a wonderfully blessed day!

Happy Tuesday

Hello my friends! It's a pretty sunny day out today, & it's supposed to be in the 60's. Hopefully I can boot the boys out for some good ol' fashioned vitamin D, LOL. Yesterday was a busy day. I dusted the homeschool room, swept, vacced & mopped it as well. My vac bag popped so I had to clean that all up as well. Decided while I was at, I'd wipe the whole vac down. Th en my swiffer wet pads weren't so wet anymore. I had to mix some cleaning solution and re-soak those (I think my floor cleaning was being sabotaged, LOL). I did a load of laundry, cleaned out a couple more bins & packed up an ebay package. I got the kitty litter box emptied and refilled, & I did all the little things- making the bed, brushing teeth (mine & Keenan's), showered, shaved (I remember why I don't shave in the shower!!!), cleaned out the fridge, found my seeds, homeschooled, exercised & took care of the kiddlins. Dinner was fried chicken chunks, mashed tater...

Happy Saturday!

I've begun posting again on In the Kitchen With Ao5 again. Take a look if you've never seen it before or if it's been awhile since you've gandered! I have a hamburger patty making pictorial that I am working on getting posted there. My blessings today have been many. I will give you 10: 1- God 2- Hubby 3- Kids 4- Friends 5- Hazelnut coffee 6- Sprouting seeds 7- Spring is coming soon! 8- That the tornadoes that rolled through the SE USA avoided us (and at the same rate, those that were hit are in my prayers) 9- My vac sealer 10- Ink refills So I tried that Boost Glucose Control today. It's one of those meal replacement type shakes. They aren't too bad, but the after taste leaves a LOT to be desired. I've spent the morning making marinades & vac sealing chicken in it. I used different marinades for all 3 bags. One is Tequila Lime Grilled chicken (no tequila in it ;-) ). It is a family fave!!! One is called "Lexington grilled chicken," and the la...

Touched deeply

THNX to the responses via both comments & email, I will continue posting here. I've prayed about this a lot. I will continue to moderate comments, but there are several touching messages I've rec'd. It would be selfish of me to discontinue blogging here. Thank you to those who sent messages, they are greatly appreciated and very touching. With that, I will move on to my 10 blessings. I really have missed blogging here & have so much to catch up on. 1- God & the power of prayer 2- Long lost friends that come back to you 3- Friends that show they truly care 4- Harry's Farmers Market 5- Banana Flax muffins 6- Sunny days and warmer weather 7- Fun mail 8- Recognition (this is on SOOOO many levels) 9- The kids 10- My Hubby On to other things, Kee is officially using a big boy potty. Sure we have accidents every few days, but he hasn't worn a dipe in over a week. Not.even.to.bed. YIPPEE!!! I am soooo proud of him. Yesterday, during errands, I FINALLY went that...

To-do, blessings, and cold hands

My hands are so cold today and it's driving me bonkers. I think I'll be making some breads later and hopefully some muffins for snack and breks this week. I'd like to put some stuff in the freezer. I would LOVE to make some cinnamon rolls for the freezer, but after being sick yesterday and still sort of ick today, I may hold off on those. I have laundry going, so that is a BIG goal for me today. It was grossly pi led up as Mondays are usually my day to start doing massive loads from the weekend. I also need to clean up the living from from where I have all my sewing stuff. I might cut some more squares. Chrisi asked if the squares were cut from anything. I collect old jeans and use them. So it is basically a recycled jeans project. I plan on making 1 for each of the boys. I am building a "Leaving the nest chest" for each of them. Comparable to a girls' Hope Chest. They will each get a denim patchwork quilt, some decoupaged mats in picture frames (I collect ...

Risin' risin' risin', keep that dough-y risin'....

RAWHIDE!!! Seriously though, I have my dough rising in the oven for cinnamon rolls. I PRAY they turn out. This'll be another thing I can cross off my 101 in 1001 list. I've been up since 5:30 this morning so I could get this started. The Hubba & I had a WONDERFUL evening last night. I got every blanket in the house, our pillows and our comforter and we camped out last night in front of the fireplace. It was SOOOOO relaxing and SOOOOO much f un. He was so upset. He forgot out "anniversary." But not our wedding one. Yesterday marked 5 years we've been together. I love him so much. Even when things are horribly rough. I didn't mention it y-day. I wanted to see if he remembered on his own & had I mentioned it y-day he might have seen it. LOL..... Canniving, aren't I? *giggle* Anyway, I've got my dough rising, sausage & bacon thawing, a Hubba still crashed out on the floor and I think I hear a child wandering around. Have a blessed day. And coun...

TGFT!!!

Thank God for today! We had a wonderful weekend. The Hubba & I got to go out ON A DATE!!! WooHoo !!! Thnx SOOO much to my wonderful Mother-in-law!!! Thank you SOOOO much "J." We went to Houcks . I had grilled salmon and, onion strips & salad. The Hubba had a thick juicy steak, loaded baked tater & a salad. Then we stopped off at Cafe Med on the way home for a drink. The evening started out rocky, but ended up fabulously. He had to go into work Sunday, and I hated for him to go. We had a wonderful day whilst he was home and an AWESOME evening! I've missed he & I time!!! It's Monday and time to roll for the week. I have a dinner going in the crockpot - fajitas- YUM!!! Alongside I'll serve up tortillas, refried beans & spanish rice. I also have my lunch cooking- stuffed peppers & since I'm making rice, I'm making enough for dinner as well. Cook once, eat twice!!! Gotta LOVE that! On the agenda today is the ever-never ending lau...

Can you smell that?

Spaghetti sauce, simmerin' away..... 3 quarts of applesauce sealed successfully. Right now I am eating a snack of popcorn. The boys are watching cartoons as they eat theirs. 20 pounds of apples left in the fridge outside, 6 jarred cakes to bake and spaghetti sauce to can as soon as it is finished simmering. My life is good. The only thing missing is my Hubba Bubba who is at work. I am currently on IM with a friend who's friend lost a good friend (did you follow all that?). If you would keep Nikki & company in your prayers, we'd all appreciate it. The lady died right in front of her husband, unexpectedly. What a shock. Remember how precious your loved ones are to you and tell them that often. Live like it's your last breath, ALWAYS! I'm not doing my 10 blessings today. I think within my previous words, you KNOW my blessings, and yes, today they would be repetitive. Be blessed! Live!

10 Daily, a trip to Nana's, Hub's day off and wheat bread

My hunka-hunka Hubba has the day off today. I am currently smelling the sweet, sweet fragrance of bread wafting from a hot oven (that, my friends, is what we call breakfast). Our plans are a trip to my Mum & Dad's house *a*k*a* "Nana's House." We also had plans to drop by Dollar General to pick up a few things we were unable to find when we went shopping last weekend. Lucky for us, this planned visit, as our coffee maker has kicked the bucket, so we need a new one. The heating element was going berserk on me a couple days ago, but since it was still spitting coffee and was heating the coffee most of the time out we thought naught of it and decided to hold on buying a new one til payday. Aye carumba! Today was coffee maker doomsday in this house. Alas, our poor coffee maker of almost 5 years has taken a burial. So if you coffee lovers and drinkers (I know you'll understand) will take a moment of silence and remember all of our fallen coffee makers........ And n...

I am cramping, but there are a lot of things I need to accomplish. I only got a couple loads of laundry done so I have a bunch left, and I want to make enough muffins to last the week (that means like 100 muffins the way these boys meal through them- LOL). I have my bread dough rising on the counter, it will be put into pans tonight before bed and we will have nummy hot fresh bread for breakfast tomorrow. That'll be a good thing as tomorrow will be a busy day. HubbaBubba has the day off. We are headed to North GA to visit my Mum & hopefully my Dad if he gets off work early enough. We also need to drop by the store to pick up a few things we were unable to find at Aldi or Big Lots on Sunday. To-Do: *Do at least 4 loads laundry *Make at least 3 dozen muffins- banana, cranberry & chocolate chip *Make cran...
