Accepting God's Will

I know a lot of you are praying for us to get this house that we are interested in (read- REALLY WANT!). However the past several days and sorta for the past couple of weeks, I've been asking God to guide me in accepting of His Will regardless of the outcome. Rather than be selfish and want, I'd rather be fearing and accepting. I know I posted before about impatience, and I AM DESPERATELY trying to conquer that as well. However, that too, will come with time. The Bible says: Matthew 7:7-8 (King James Version) 7Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. But should I be so selfish as to EXPECT that because I ask (read- WANT) that I should GET? Of course not. However, all things are possible through Christ. As long as I do the hard work. Pray for patience and acceptance, not just for me, but for you as well. Have a bl...

Duct tape is my friend!

How do you spell fix-it? How do you spell frugal? D-U-C-T T-A-P-E. The first picture is of the boys' chore binder. They tore the sheet protectors and their little money envelopes. Instead of buying more expensive (heavy duty high gloss) sheet protectors, I dug into the toolbox. I took strips of duct tape as long as the pages and envelopes and very carefully taped down one side, leaving enough to fold over to the back. Thus lending DOUBLE coverage! The using a 3-hole punch, I re-punched holes and voila! Seems sturdy enough so far! The second pictures are of the shower curtain in their bathroom that, yes, THEY tore. I figured if it worked for the chore binder, we had a shot at a not so torn up shower cutrain! Ya gotta love boys! LOL... And YES! I stood INSIDE the tub to get the 2nd picture! With this fixer-upper, I laid the shower curtain on the kitchen floor and working in about 18" strips, I applied the tape as close to the top edge as possible & smoothed it out as best I ...

Today is the day that the Lord hath made.....

Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Amen? 1 Thessalonians 1 1Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; 3Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father; 4Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God. 5For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. 6And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost. 7So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia. 8For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, ...

Have you loved yourself today?

We often make sure our hubbies are kissed off to work in the mornings, that his work clothes are clean and that he has a healthy & yummy dinner awaiting his arrival home. The kids are always dressed in CLEAN clothes, have 3 meals a day and a snack or 3 and that they are stimulated as best they can be for their ages. If we have pets, we make sure they are fed- be it on our own or as a child's chore. We make sure the house is at least some semblance of clean and that the flowers are watered and the trash is taken to the curb (again, self or as a chore). BUT!!! What about YOU?!?!? Have you loved yourself today? Look in the mirror. Tell yourself "You ARE important, beautiful and deserve the best as well." Do something for YOU and you alone. Do your make-up, paint your toenails. Buy yourself a king-size chocolate bar or a nice outfit (this doesn't have to be expensive- think Goodwill if necessary). Maybe your Hubby is willing to watch the kids tonight after dinner? Tak...

Haircut.....

Before..... He looks like SUCH a BOY now. Byebye BABY!!!

Finally!!!

So sorry I am just now getting on to update everyone. I've missed you all. We got back in town on Friday the 7th. We had a blast. We arrived early Sunday evening and we were greeted by a yummy hot ham dinner. We drove through the smokies. On the way we stopped by Gold City in North Carolina. Each of the kids got a small trinket, we looked around and then moved on.

Monday we got to ride in the boat all afternoon

It was fun, both the Elders got to tube, BY THEMSELVES!!! Hehe!!!

Tuesday we went to a huge festival thing in Rogersville

The Elders in one of those inflatables. They had a BLAST!!! The Elders taking a break in the shade. We were there from about 11:30am til 10:30pm. Made for a LONG day. Fun, but exhausting! They had 3 choppers throughout the day for the kids (and adults) to look at. The first one that landed was a Sheriff's Dept. chopper, the second was a medivac chopper (pictured) and the last was a news chopper. The kids got a HUGE kick out of the choppers.

Mishaps along the way.....

Poor Tristen got a blistered sunburn and Sebastion got stung by a yellowjacket. All in all it was a fabulous week, but thouroughly exhausting. We had waterguns at the 4th fest, which was a GREAT idea. The boys had a blast. I got to meet an online friend for the first time and I fell in love with her kiddos. It was exciting. I felt like I was meeting a celeb. LOL... The fireworks were awesome as well. And on that note, again, I hope everyone had a blessed 4th.... Here are the fireworks:

Sowwy!

I've been editing (adding on) a draft copy of my post to catch you all up. I have minimal time on here to be able to type my cares away these days! As soon as I'm finished, I'll get it posted! Much love to all!
