If you would keep the Brown Family in your prayers, Mrs. Brown's mother passed away. Hubba rec'd a call at 10 til 7 this morning. Mr & Mrs Brown have been through sheer hell the past few weeks taking care of this woman.

Robert came home with all of this last night. The owner of the company he works for now said he bought this a couple months ago for his GK's. Well he went to visit them and accidentally left this at home, so he bou ght another when he got there for them. He handed the bag to Robert and was telling him he meant to return it, and Robert said "I need to the receipt to return this" (R does a lot o f running errands for the boss & setting up accounts on a personal level). And the boss says "Oh no, I don't want you to return it, it's for your kids." And he GAVE it to us!!! Robert works for a GOOD couple of guys! These are the same ones that handed him a check when we went up to TN 4th of July week, before he'd even started working for them yet. My husband had an agenda planner while back that got stolen or went missing. I believe the latter as we haven't had any issues with unauthorised credit card purchases, etc. Regardless, he had been complaining about it being too small anyway (be careful what you wish for, LOL ). But in a hunt for a large one that holds the 8 1/2" X 11" papers, we realised it's just not in the budget. Then you h ave to g e t refills, etc. I was at Big Lots a week or 2 ago and I found a zippered binder, similar to the one posted in the Coupon Binder post , sans handle, f or a whopping 6 bucks. The ide a struck me to build a planner for my husband, cutting the cost to a FRACTION of a pre -made-store-bought one. As follows: This is the $6 zippered binder: It has a pocket on the front that has small elastic bands on the sides. I slid a manila folder in there for extra filing space. We did! We did! As our country spirals downward in terror, lies, disrespect and loss of God in our daily lives, less and less people are voting. Several of the ones that ARE voting are going with the popular vote, meaning, they have NOT DONE THEIR HOMEWORK!! They haven't researched the candidates. Be sure when 2008 rolls around that you STUDY the candidates. Vote! But VOTE knowledgably!!! The boys all proudly sporting their "I'm a Georgia Voter" stickers

I started revamping, but it's getting late and I didn't realise how bizzee of a day we'd had. SO I am pooped and off to bed!

I got a phone call today. From Miss V ! She has been helping her sister out, far away from home and has not been on the computer like she used to be. She's been gone for over 3 weeks and should be home the weekend after Thanksgiving! It was sooooo nice to talk to her. She has been having a blast, living on a farm lately. They've been feeding cows, learning how to make apple butter and having a grand ol' prairie homemakin' time! And I know she is looking forward to this weekend when her long lost (actually he's just been at hom, LOL) arrives to be with them through Thanksgiving. I'm looking forward to her arrival home, though. Even have it marked on my calendar! *giggle* PS- eat your heart out Gerrie! LOL

If you haven't voted yet, I suggest you do, especially if you want to complain about all the wrong things the governors and such will be doing. I was humoured by those that complained incessantly of all the "wrong" things Bush was doing, but when asked if they voted, they humbly replied "no." That's like asking for advice, not taking it, then complaining because things aren't going as you wish. Do your homework, know the candidates, know what they believe in and what they plan to do during their (next) term. Then get in a booth and vote! This is UP TO YOU!! Good luck and God bless!!

I was so tired this morning that I completely forgot half of the things I have on my do list today. We went through the veggie drawer and froze anything that was looking a bit near too old. I had the boys help. Seb shucked corn, cut limes and squeezed some limes; Tris dumped everything in the compost, squeezed lemons; they both dumped ice trays, refilled them and couried things out to the freezer; and Kee put baby carrots in the food processor and whizzed them. They had so much fun. I only had to toss a small slice of green pepper. Everything else was good! So tonight in lieu of green beans as mentioned before, we are having fresh corn on the cob. The bread is set up in the bread machine and should start soon. I have it set to be done about 4:30 or so. I also need to empty the litter box, finish my menu for the 2nd half of November, and get to HS'ing.

What a boring title, huh? Today will be a busy one. I have a do-list a mile long and lots of things planned. Yesterday was such a WONDERFULLY lazy day. Exception of not going to church :(. Keenan was throwing up all Saturday evening, so we decided not to chance a) contagion & b) him being sick at church. We laid around, watched movies, played with the kids, DH played on his computer, I made grocery lists & menus and the kids played all day. I made my delicious Chicken Corn Potato Soup, served with oyster crackers for dinner. Soup is wonderful on a chilly day. Today I am making donut muffins & Tang for breakfast, will tackle the laundry (Sundays are towels & linens change), scrub the 2nd loo, make the jugs of drinks for the week (gatorade- HM of course), sweet tea, juices, etc. & finish the October attendance repot for HS. We are working on math today, addition of double digits for the 6yo & long division for the 10yo. We'll be reading another classic today a...

My friend Faith has been at the hosp- ital with her son for a few days now. He's been diagnosed at age 6 with childhood diabetes. If you would PLEASE say a prayer for her and her son, I know she'd appreciate it!!!

For my creative use of rubbermaid type containers and binders. *sigh* I admit, I should own stock, both in Rubbermaid and Avery. BUT I CAN'T HELP IT!!! It's an addiction...... *sigh* OK, so let me tell you about my other binder (one of the many "others"). My special occasions binder. I use this to store all of my greeting cards used for birthdays, anniversaries and holidays . Again, we start out with basic binder. A 1" in this case, but in the midst of revamping, I may need to go larger. First page is a list, done on a Microsoft Word Document. It is all of the birthdays in month order, followed by the anniversaries. Here is a screenshot. If it looks a little funny, I whited out the last names. Didn't thi nk friends and fam would appreciate a free ticket for a once in a lifetime opportunity at identity theft.
