1 hour and a curtain later.....

I bought fabric awhile back to make napkins for my fine china set. When I got it home, there was NO way it was going to match and look nice. So I stashed it away. It's gorgeous fabric anyway, so definitely not a loss. I decided to make a curtain for my "Victorian Eclectic" bathroom.
The fabric spread on my dining table to be ironed (I didn't feel like dragging the ironing board upstairs! LOL)

A close up of this beautiful toile!

The original and BLAND curtain. I made this out of a sheet several years ago. You can see it got quite wonky over the years!

The new and improved, and if I may say so myself, BEAUTIFUL new curtain!

There is a "pouf" at the top. I plan on stuffing it if I can find my air pillows for packing. I keep them in case I need them to pack something breakable. However, I think they'll go nicely in my valance part of the curtain!

THNX ladies!

No pattern. I had a 45" X 1.75yd piece of fabric. Window measures 43" X 29, IIRC. I hemmed the sides and bottom of the curtain. Then I measured from the bottom of my sewn fabric up towards the top the length of the window. From that point I folded the top down (RST) then half less 2" folded back up. I folded the additional 2" over the back, sewed a thread all the way across the top (leaving a loop enough for a rod to go thru), then used pinking shears to cut the excess away on the backside. If that is hard to foolow, LMK and I can do an entry on the instructions! LOL

The much requested COUPON BINDER! A how-to pictorial

First you start with a LARGE 3-ring binder . I was able to get about a dozen of these for 50-75¢ each at a thrift shoppe, brand new. Mine are from a business complete with logo, but that's ok. 50-75¢ sure beats 8 bucks at Wal-mart. Plus mine DOES have a front pocket, in case I want to make it a bit purtier. Some people prefer a zippered binder. These are GREAT if you can afford the dough for a LARGE one. This one is especially great as it has a handle for carrying. You'll also need some pocket pages . I prefer the 4-per-page pages. The pockets are a little bigger, which is GREAT for those LONG coupons (which stick out, so I fold them in half) and those WIDE coupons, and especially for holding more coupons than their miniature counterparts! Now others have had luck with other pages. They come in 1-pocket (also known as sheet protectors, which we'll be using as well- we'll get to that later), 2 pocket, 4-pocket, 5-pocket, 6-pocket, 8-pocket; 9-pocke t. Anything with more...
