Tuesday, Tuesday, lala

Actually the song goes "Monday, Monday... lalaaalalala...." But it is Tuesday, no? LOL

The kids and I dropped The Hubster off at the aeropuerto (airport) this afternoon. I hate doing that. I hate him being away! We get to go pick him up tomorrow about 9:30pm at the train station (MARTA for you Georgia folks!). As long as things keep progressing and go as planned, this should only happen 1-2 more times.

In other Kayla news...... For those that are unaware, I have been on a fit-into-smaller-clothes (A*K*A weight-loss) journey since May 31st. I did GREAT the first 2 weeks. I lost 3 pounds each week. Then I got that container of Metamucil® and my weight has been ALL over the place. It says that bloating may occur, but I'm not sure how long THAT is supposed to last. If you have ANY idea, please leave it in the comment section. I'm about to go nuts over it. Anyway, the bloating thing- my weight has fluctuated up to 5-6 pounds in a matter of days. Back and forth. Yes, nerve wrecking. Anyhoo, a couple of gals online and I started a blog to track our weight loss, inch loss or what have you. Everyone was sooo gung-ho at the beginning of this but it seems that there has been a HUGE taper-off. Well, actually there have only been 3 of us that have actually stuck with it and posted in at least once a week. Well, no, 2 of us. We have a newbie, but I feel she'll stick with it as well. So, I've decided to track my accomplishments here as well as over there.

My current weight is 189. More like 189 sans bloat. That was my last true weigh-in a week and a half ago. I have bought a body ball, which, though I'm still learning to use, I absolutely love. But right now, my fave piece of equipment is the LATERAL THIGH TRAINER . My Mum let me "borrow" it. I statred out a few days ago (she handed it over on Sunday evening) at a whopping 30 seconds or so. Now I'm up to 2 minute increments a few times a day (6 minutes total for today!!! YIPPY!).

I have been trolling the net for "good" snacks as opposed to "other" snacks. I have a large Glad®ware container that has a few baggies of cut and washed veg in it. I also have fresh, prepped fruits at the ready. Still looking for more though. I read on the Spark forum that one of the gals keeps a grilled chicken breast in the fridge in case she feels she needs food NOW! I think that is a great idea and I plan on grilling up a few extra breasts next time grill and freezing a couple. I can keep one in the fridge and when that's gone, pull a cooked one from the freezer for the fridge. I also have a container of hard boiled eggs (high protein, not too high in fat and absolutely YUMMY with LOTS of salt and pepper- BTW, this is one of the FEW things I sprinkle salt on post-cooking), a pkg of roast beef and a few other odds and ends, but I still think I need more. Variety is a wonderful thing if you wish not to cave and eat a whole Pepperidge Farm Frozen Cake *drool*.

Anyway, if you have any ideas, trials, or comments of similar interest, let me know. I'd LOVE to hear them!!!

God Bless!!!

The much requested COUPON BINDER! A how-to pictorial

First you start with a LARGE 3-ring binder . I was able to get about a dozen of these for 50-75¢ each at a thrift shoppe, brand new. Mine are from a business complete with logo, but that's ok. 50-75¢ sure beats 8 bucks at Wal-mart. Plus mine DOES have a front pocket, in case I want to make it a bit purtier. Some people prefer a zippered binder. These are GREAT if you can afford the dough for a LARGE one. This one is especially great as it has a handle for carrying. You'll also need some pocket pages . I prefer the 4-per-page pages. The pockets are a little bigger, which is GREAT for those LONG coupons (which stick out, so I fold them in half) and those WIDE coupons, and especially for holding more coupons than their miniature counterparts! Now others have had luck with other pages. They come in 1-pocket (also known as sheet protectors, which we'll be using as well- we'll get to that later), 2 pocket, 4-pocket, 5-pocket, 6-pocket, 8-pocket; 9-pocke t. Anything with more...
